e-Waste Collection Program

Program Description

​

LRS provides Campton Township residents with an annual e-Waste Collection Program.  This free program is designed to help Campton Township residents comply with Illinois laws that ban landfill disposal of electronic equipment.  This collection event, for subscribing residential customers, occurs  on your regular collection day in late spring of each year.  Residents will receive an e-mail from LRS each year announcing the e-Waste collection dates.   To add your e-mail address to the LRS distribution list, please send a request to:  camptontownship@lrsrecycles.com

Collection Guidelines:

  • only accepted e-Waste items will be collected;

  • seven item limit, which may include one TV or one monitor;

  • tube TV's may not exceed 40" or 100 pounds;

  • flat screen TV's may not exceed 48" or 100 pounds; and

  • a special handling fee will apply for collection requests exceeding any of the above limitations.  Contact LRS for an estimate at (844) 633-3577 or by email.

To participate in the annual e-Waste Collection Program, a new service request must be submitted each year.  Contact LRS Customer Service at (844) 633-3577 or click here to begin the online request process.  This link will redirect you to the LRS web page which provides detailed information about the e-Waste Collection Program:  items that are acceptable, items that are not acceptable, how to prepare your items for collection, and when to set your items out for collection.

Please note:  The LRS e-Waste Collection Program web page is always accessible to view detailed program information.  The ability to submit an on-line service request is only active for a short period of time in the weeks prior to the annual collection week and will be active when LRS sends out the annual reminder e-mail.

In addition, these two drop-off facilities are available year round to accept e-Waste:

  • Kane County Central Recycling Center at 517 E. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia

        Hours:  M - F  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Sat  8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (seasonally)

  • LRS Electronic Waste Center at 1N138 Linlar Drive, Elburn.  Registration is required before drop-off at this location only.  Phone:  (844) 633-3577

        Hours:  M - F  8:30 AM - 2:30 PM
