Campton Solid Waste District Information

The Solid Waste Committee meets at the Campton Township Community Center, on the 4th Monday of each month. Topics include various environment-related issues pertaining to the Township. Members of the public are always welcome to attend. Please consult our calendar for upcoming meeting dates and times.

Waste Disposal Contract Extended to 2015

We are pleased to announce the extension of the Campton Township Solid Waste Disposal District’s current contract with Waste Management through March of 2015. The board spent many months in deliberation, which included the hiring of an experienced consultant to perform a cost/benefit analysis of all options.

The consultant noted:

• Our residents are in general extremely satisfied with their current services
• Our benefits exceed most of those listed in other local contracts and are offered at a competitive price.
• Changing haulers would also entail changing days, changing bins, getting accustomed to new routes and rules, and could cause unnecessary confusion and loss of service.

The CTSWDD Board’s most important concern is always for the satisfaction of our residents and for keeping costs as low as possible. A few of the highlights of the contract are:

• There will be a reduction of the maximum annual fee increase from 4.5% to 4.0%.
• Your present trash and recycling service will remain exactly the same with a guarantee of no further pick-up day changes.
• You may continue to set out unlimited garbage and recycling each week for your basic fee.
